ph21 Gallery - The MONO Exhibition

I entered a contest a few weeks ago, and (to my surprise) one of the photos I sent got chosen to be exhibited.

Long story short, ph21 Gallery, based in Budapest, had a monochrome photography contest. A very good friend told me about it, so I entered 5 of my photographs, all shot on black and white film:

Ancient Trees

Arch of Brukenthal

Arieseni Hills

Forest Road

Marisos from Above

After a while, I got an e-mail from them, stating that the one entitled "Ancient Trees" had been chosen for the exhibition. I shot this using a 4x5 Hope Tachihara camera, on Ilford HP5 (ISO 400) film.

About a week or so later, I sent them a 40cm x 50cm print - thank you for printing and telling me about the contest, Iulian! You can check it out on the contest's web page (here) or visit their gallery, where it'll be on display May 11th to June 6th 2017.

Hello, world! (pun intended)

I finally decided to write the first post, so I guess an intro to what this blog is about is in order.

Basically, you're going to find anything related to film photography here. From descriptions and personal thoughts on the gear that I use (or that I can get my hands on), to discussions about techniques ranging from shooting to printing, the people / places I like to shoot and why, any projects that I'm doing or would like to do, maybe a few photography book reviews and so on.

I believe art is for everybody, so everybody is welcome here.

For more on who I am, go to the About me section. If you want to see my work, check out the Gallery section.
